Lean - back to Basic
For over 10 years, together with our Japanese partner, we have regularly organized KaizenTours to Japan. During these trips, we experience world-class Lean practices in the culture where it originated. The reason behind organizing KaizenTour is our observation that Lean practices in the Western world are heavily influenced by American management approaches. The original hands-on approach and use of tools are being diminished to a point where their effectiveness may be called into question.
With Kaizentour, our goal is to focus on the original and fundamentally practical aspects of Lean. We believe that by doing so, one can achieve the same effectiveness that the method has demonstrated in Japan.

Toyota has been incorporating Lean practices for nearly a century. We visit 5-6 companies that excel in World Class Lean implementation. The visit includes a tour where we observe the practices in action, followed by a Q&A session with the management.

What does a kaizen tour include
A Kaizen tour typically runs from Monday to Sunday. Our Japan journey begins at the airport in Tokyo, where participants (10-15) meet our English-speaking Japanese guide. The itinerary for each tour may vary depending on the visitation demand at relevant companies.
During the study trip to Japan, the program will be determined through discussions with the participants. The main elements of a week-long program include the following activities:
- 5-6 Lean visits to companies - See more about companies

- Sightseeing in Tokyo and/or Kyoto - See more about Sightseeing
